You may be entitled to compensation between €125 and €600 depending on the distance of your flight and the total delay at your final destination. If you were informed about the cancellation at least 14 days before the flight, or if the airline can prove that the cancellation was caused by extraordinary circumstances (weather conditions, strike, security measures) you are not entitled to compensation. In addition to compensation, the airline must offer you the choice between:
- reimbursement of your ticket within seven days
- re-routing to your final destination under similar conditions
Care (phone call, refreshments, food, accommodation, transportation to the accommodation), should also be provided if necessary.
